PED101 - Personal Fitness

Students in this course will learn and practice exercises to remain fit, flexible, and free from injury for the rest of their lives. Using gentle movement and breathing patterns drawn from dance, yoga, cross fit and rugby training, each class session will include activities to improve cardiovascular capacity, core strength, and muscle flexibility.
PED201 - Physical Education

This class is designed to give students a background in indoor and outdoor activities they can participate in after high school. Activities may include volleyball, badminton, softball, frisbee golf, pickleball, basketball, and soccer. Emphasis of this program will be on lifelong fitness. Attendance and participation are vital components of a student’s grade.
PED301 - Strength & Conditioning A

This course is a Weight Room-based class. It will be an independent-based learning environment, where students will be introduced to Personal Fitness Planning, Principles of Strength Training, Nutrition and Supplementation, Energy Systems, Exercise Applications, Techniques, and Performance, as well as Weight Room safety measures. Additionally, students will learn basic movement elements of speed, agility, quickness, and plyometric training. Students will be responsible for creating their own Personal Fitness Plan. Attendance and participation are vital components of a student’s grade.
PED351 - Strength & Conditioning B

This course is the advanced section of Strength and Conditioning. This course is a Weight Room-based class. It will be instructor-led, including workouts created by the instructor for students to complete daily. Students will also be required to complete assessments throughout the trimester, including Exercise Techniques and Applications rubrics, Strength and Athletic Movement assessments, and performing other fitness testing. Students will be responsible for creating their own training and assessment notebook. Attendance and participation are vital components of a student’s grade.
